The Head of the European Union Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Luigi Soreca, made the statement after a meeting with BiH Presidency Member Denis Bećirović, which was also attended by ambassadors of EU countries.

Soreca stressed that unilateral actions that undermine the competences of state institutions are unacceptable.

“Unilateral actions that violate the competences of state institutions are unacceptable. I emphasize the importance of using all domestic legal remedies to preserve the constitutional order of BiH, and in this context, the challenge submitted to the Constitutional Court of BiH has been taken into account,” Soreca said.

He added that the EU is monitoring everything that is happening in BiH.

“The European Union is following developments in BiH very closely and is unequivocally committed to its sovereignty, territorial integrity, constitutional order and international subjectivity, as well as its path towards the EU,” Soreca said.

The meeting in the BiH Presidency building was held a day after the President of the Republika Srpska entity, Milorad Dodik, signed a decree enacting laws suspending the work of the Court of BiH, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) in the territory of this entity.
