Preparations for this year’s traditional 37th International Book Fair, which will be held from 22 to 27 April 2026 under the motto “The Path of the Book”, are proceeding successfully and in accordance with the planned activities.
The Sarajevo Book Fair Program Council congratulated the exhibitors, the Fair organizer – the Skenderija Center, as well as the Council’s expert team on the timely and high-quality preparations that enable this most important event in Bosnia and Herzegovina, dedicated to authors and books, to be organized at a high level.
The program concept for the development of the Book Fair, which was adopted by the Council, is being implemented successfully and with high quality, and it is expected that during the Fair, authors will present their works to more than 100,000 visitors.
The programs will be held in the “Mirza Delibašić”, “Vrata znanja”, Hall 3, Bosanska kuća and the Skenderija Center Youth Center.
The Guest of Honor of the Book Fair this year is the Kingdom of Spain. In addition to the extraordinary exhibition about Ivo Andrić, Spain will participate in marking World Book and Copyright Day with a program of reading texts from the works of Miguel de Cervantes, the symbolic action “Book for a Rose”, as well as in the fourth international round table “The Path of the Book”, in cooperation with the Cultural Forum in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The President of the Program Council of the Book Fair Ibrahim Spahić, reiterated the call to the institutions of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina to declare the Book Fair an event of special importance for our city and country, because it deserves it as a unique meeting of authors, publishers and expert critics in all fields of creativity.
The Book Fair is our house, built of books, knowledge, education, science, art and media.
