The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to our country, Maria Molina Alvarez de Toledo, paid a working visit to the City of Zenica and the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDC). During the meetings, as stated by the Zenica City Administration, discussions were held on the possibility of cooperation in the fields of culture, sports, and economy. Almost the same topics were discussed with the leaders of the Government and Assembly of the ZDC. On this occasion, talks were held about the potential twinning of this canton with certain regions in Spain, as well as the establishment of business relations between companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Spain, and their participation in economic fairs in Zenica and Tesanj.
“We have not yet defined the sectors or regions that could potentially be connected, but we have discussed the possibility of twinning with regions that have gone through numerous challenges and that can talk with the ZDC about possible solutions. We also touched on the possibility of participating in the fair in Tesanj, and I hope that many projects will come to fruition. And from this canton we expect proposals,” said Maria Molina Alvarez de Toledo, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to BiH.
“Of course, we expect the greatest support on the path of the European Integration plan, and in that sense, I would like to further emphasize that this is also the first visit of the Spanish Ambassador to the ZDC, and of course today we could not specify concrete projects, but we have opened a number of issues on which we can have quality cooperation. Here I am primarily thinking of the University in Zenica itself, that is, cooperation on an educational level, then on a cultural level, in terms of certain cultural projects, but we are also leaving room to explore a form of cooperation in the economic field as well,” said Nezir Pivic, Prime Minister of ZDC.
