State deputies of B&H, 67 of them (42 in the House of Representatives and 15 in the House of Peoples), are among the highest paid in the whole Europe.

In general, the average salary in the B&H Parliament is around 5 000 BAM. And, as some of them are collecting different benefits, they are earning about 7 000 BAM per month.

According to the report of the Centers for Civic Initiatives (CCI), who did monitoring for the first three months of this year, the situation is following: in this period the House of Representatives held 10 sessions which lasted for approximately 35 hours. They spent 8.5 hours on breaks.

In the same period, the House of Peoples had 5 sessions in which they spent about 7 hours, with 3 breaks on which they spend about an hour.

During this time, they adopted a total of two laws, both of them in March. They rejected four acts, and withdrew one from the procedure. Ten laws are still in the procedure.

According to this, B&H definitely has the “most expensive” laws in the region. When their earnings are compared with the number of working hours it is calculated that one law is costing us the insane amount of 428,000 BAM…
