Today is the non-working day in the West Herzegovina Canton (ZHK) due to the celebration of May 30, the Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia.
This decision was made by the Government of the West Herzegovina Canton on the basis of the Law on Holidays and Non-working Days in this Canton.
Based on that, “All-Croatian Statehood Day” is being celebrated today.
Let us remind you that Statehood Day is being celebrated in Croatia today, in memory of the constitution of the first democratically elected multi-party Parliament on May 30, 1990. From the enactment of the Act on Amendments to the Act on Holidays, Memorials and Non-working Days in the Republic of Croatia until 2001, until 2020, that day was marked as the Day of the Croatian Parliament.
With the adoption of the new Law on Holidays, Memorials and Non-working Days in November 2019, which has been in force since 1 January 2020, May 30 is again marked as the Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia.
