Strengthening the Position of Mediterranean Women and Civil Societies

slika-za-konferenciju1A three day international conference called “Strengthening the position of Mediterranean women and civil societies ” will start tomorrow in Sarajevo.

The conference will gather the representatives of 16 countries: Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia, Switzerland, Finland, Qatar, U.S, U.K and B&H. Also, the representatives of the EU, the State Department, the Institute for Peace of U.S. and the leadership of SAIS Washington will participate in the conference.

The B&H Agency for gender equality of the Ministry for human rights and refugees, the Center for transatlantic relations SAIS of the University Johns Hopkins in Washington and the American-Bosnian Foundation will organize the conference.

By hosting this conference, Sarajevo officially becomes the Center of the Program ” Strengthening the position of Mediterranean women and civil societies “, while the headquarters for cooperation of the Mediterranean civil society organizations will be in Tunisia.
