Successful Bosnians in the World: Hurem Avdic

Hurem Avdic AustriaThe war in Bosnia and Herzegovina had many consequences, besides enormous human victims and material damage, such as a large number of refugees and displaced persons.

Many people sought for salvation in countries around the world, consequently, Bosnians and Herzegovinians are living in Europe, America and Australia. Many of them became very successful and famous people in the world of business. One of them is Hurem Avdic who loves and works in Vienna for the insurance company “Niederösterreichische Versicherung” that has been around for more than 90 years.

“My family roots originate from Srebrenica. My late father, Ramo Avdic, moved from Srebrenica to Bijeljina. I was born in Bijeljina where I lived until the war started.

After the completion of Economics school, Avdic made his first business steps in the insurance segment, where he was further educated. He was reputed as a good and successful worker, and from 2011, Avdic has worked in the insurance company “Niederösterreichische Versicherung“, where he achieved remarkable results.

“For the last three business years, I received a total of 10 awards and recognitions. I was the employee of the year. I have been elected in the club of the best workers. Named for the inspector and presenter of this insurance company. When passing the state exam I have been certified by the Austrian Insurance Institute as an expert for insurance services“, explained Avdic.

At the end of an interview, he added that he didn’t forget Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that he managed to negotiate with the Head of NV – Insurance to be a sponsor and donor to BH humanitarian actions, manifestations and cultural and sport projects in Austria.

At the initiative of the company NV – Insurance, and in the cooperation with the city of Schwechat, 20.000 euros were collected last years for flooded areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
