Merlinka_plakat 2The International festival of LGBT film ‘Merlinka’ was organized for the first time six years ago in Belgrade in order to promote movies related to the LGBT topics. The festival got its name after a murdered transgender person – Vjeran Miladinović Merlinka. This year, Merlinka will be organized and hosted in Sarajevo from January 30 to February 1st at the Sarajevo Open Centre in the Kriterion Cinema. This is the 3rd edition of the festival taking place in Sarajevo.

Within three days of program, five feature-length documentaries and movies will be screened. The festival will be open by a documentary by Nancy D. Kates from 2014: ‘About Susan Sontag’, which intimately tells a story about a woman who, thanks to her education, passion and activism became one of the most influential literary, political and feminist icons of her generation. At the opening of the festival, artist who had the chance to cooperate with Sontag during the war in Sarajevo will hold speeches.
