Tesla recalls 27,000 Cybertrucks over rear-camera Glitch — that’s 5 Recalls this Year

Tesla is recalling more than 27,000 Cybertrak trucks due to problems with the camera that shows the space behind the vehicle.

The company is recalling electric vehicles for the fifth time since they went on sale at the end of last year, this time due to a delay in displaying the image on the dashboard from the rear camera, which increases the risk of collisions.

Tesla has issued a free software update to address this issue, and notification letters to owners are expected to be mailed out on November 25th.

In April, the pickup trucks were recalled because the gas pedal could get stuck when pressed. In January, Tesla issued a software recall for 2.2 million of its vehicles, including the Cybertrak, because the letters on the warning lights were too small to read easily.

In the latest recall, the company notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the screens in the pickup trucks, which are supposed to show the area behind the vehicle, show nothing for as long as 8 seconds when the Cybertruck is put into reverse.
