Tesla is recalling nearly 700,000 vehicles due to a problem with a warning light in its tire pressure monitoring system, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
The recall affects this year’s Cybertruck models, as well as the 2017-2024 Model 3 and the 2017-2024 Model Y.
The problem is that the vehicles’ tire pressure monitoring system warning light may not stay on between driving cycles, so the driver will not be warned of low pressure.
Driving with improperly inflated tires can increase the risk of a crash, the AP reported.
The automaker, owned by Elon Musk, said it would issue a free software update to fix the problem.
