The 22nd International extreme diving competition “Jump in Kazan” will be held on July 27 at the main city beach in Konjic, and more than 30 of the best divers from the entire region will participate in it.

“The complete event will be held from July 26 to 28, and the main competition will be held on July 27 from 4 p.m. More than 30 of the best jumpers from the entire region will participate in it, and that competition is like a pre-competition with jumps from the Old Bridge, considering that a large number of jumpers will come from Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia, who will compete in Konjic, and then continue to traditional jumps in Mostar,” said the executive producer and event organizer Elmir Miro Hadžialić for Fena news agency.

He added that Skok u Kazan has become a distinctive, recognizable brand that attracts a large number of visitors, both domestic and foreign.

“At the previous competitions, there were from three to six thousand guests, i.e. the audience, and this year we also expect a large number of them. What is specific about these jumps is that they are held in the center of the old town of Konjic, on the main city beach, and are jumped from 16-meter-high rocks. The height is not as attractive as the plunge into the water itself, given that the competitors jump into a place called ‘Kazan.’ water and there is a hole between them, the so-called ‘Kazan’, which is the most important and important thing is that the jumpers fall into that hole, because if they miss it they can fatal consequences,” explained Hadžialić.

That is why, as he added, these jumps are very attractive and cause adrenaline in both the audience and the competitors themselves.

“Until now, in these 22 years, we haven’t had any awkward situations or accidents because professional jumpers and jumpers with huge experience take part in this competition, and they represent a very attractive and beautiful sports-show event for all spectators,” said Hadžialić.

The jumps will be judged by an expert jury made up of professional trainers, long-term active athletes and former jumpers, and cash prizes are provided for the three best competitors.

Hadžialić thanked the City of Konjic, which recognized this event and, as he added, supported it in the last three years.

“This international manifestation best represents the City of Konjic, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina, is known throughout the region and attracts a large number of tourists. Its goal is, first of all, the promotion of sports and entertainment tourism, the protection of the Neretva River and the strengthening of environmental awareness around of its preservation,” said Hadžialić, Fena news agency writes.
