Stray Dogs Removing faktor.baFollowing the completion of the education and prescribed training and after the completion of administrative procedures, three teams of the Hygienic service within the CPUC „Rad“ are to begin their field work today, in accordance with the Law on Protection and Welfare of Animals.

As it was emphasized at the meeting held and attended by the Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton Elmedin Konakovic and the ministers in the Government of the Canton Muharem Sabic, Senad Hasanspahic and Samer Residat, together with the representatives from the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Issues, the Veterinary Faculty Sarajevo, the Cantonal Veterinary Station, the CPUC „Rad“ and the Foundation „Dogs Trust“, this will be the first formal step in solving the issue of the care of stray dogs.

“All of us here have the same goal-that the abandoned and ill dogs do not wander on the streets of our city. Taking care of such dogs is our primary task. Hygienic service is an important link in the systematic addressing of this problem that will, in accordance with the Law on Protection and Welfare of Animals and with the assessment of the veterinary profession, treat the abandoned and sick dogs“, pointed out the Prime Minister Konakovic.

Treating the dogs will be humane and transparent, in accordance with the procedures regulated by the law, Konakovic stressed and pointed out the importance of joint action of all participants in the process and the partnership of non-governmental organizations that take care of the dogs.
