The Armed Forces of BiH increased their Engagement in Firefighting

According to the new order of the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a helicopter has been engaged since this morning to extinguish fires in the area of ​​the municipality of Trebinje. The crew of the 1st helicopter squadron of the Armed Forces of BiH (OSBiH) has been extinguishing the fire in the inaccessible and demanding terrain in the Trebinje region since the early hours of the morning.

As in the previous days, the crew of the 2nd helicopter squadron of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina continued their activities to help the vulnerable population in the area of ​​Cazin municipality. Fifteen members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina are still available to help from the ground in that municipality. Yesterday, the OSBiH helicopter extinguished the fire in that area for about six hours, and more than 40,000 liters of water were dumped.

In addition, since August 13, 22 members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been engaged in extinguishing fires from the ground in the area of ​​Nevesinje.

“The members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with their professionalism, willingness and sacrifice, and in these complex conditions, confirm their commitment to, in accordance with their capabilities, prescribed procedures and legal competences, provide assistance to the wider citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” announced the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
