Representatives of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly adopted the Proposal of the Decision on Acceptance of Debt under the Loan Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) for the “Air Quality Improvement” Project.

The Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Nihad Uk explained that this decision envisages a debt of Sarajevo Canton in the total amount of 22.7 million euros, with a repayment period of 31 and a half years and a grace period of eight years.

The project aims to improve air quality through four components: strengthening air quality monitoring and management, support for improving heating and energy efficiency in individual houses, and promotion of green urban mobility and support for the implementation of the project.

The Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton is responsible for the implementation of the three segments, while the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton is responsible for the green mobility component, the Sarajevo Canton Protocol and Press Service announced.
