The Central Bank of BiH estimates the Annual Core Inflation

Based on available official statistical data for consumer price indices in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the corresponding weights, the Central Bank of BiH (CBBiH) has estimated the annual core inflation for the first five months of 2025 at 4.18 percent.

The annual increase in average consumer prices in the services sector is estimated at 4.66 percent.

Monthly changes in the level of overall and estimated core inflation, as well as inflation in the services sector, are very consistent, which indicates that the increase in electricity prices and the minimum wage had an inflationary effect, especially in service activities.

Due to the smaller sum of weights in core inflation compared to overall inflation, the change in inflation for the mentioned period is less noticeable.

The CBBiH estimate of core inflation based on official statistical data does not significantly deviate from the estimate from the June round of rapid core inflation assessments.
