The City of Sarajevo, led by Mayor Samir Avdić, intended to organize a welcoming ceremony for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s national football team after their return from the World Cup, where they achieved historic success and one of the brightest moments in the country’s sporting history.
“The Mayor Samir Avdić and the City administration were in constant communication with the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Secretary General Adnan Džemidžić.
The City, together with our citizens, wanted to show gratitude and pride, just as in Sarajevo’s overcrowded Titova Street (also known as Tito’s Street), where a grand send-off for the Dragons to the World Cup was organized.
Unfortunately, most of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team players will not arrive directly in Sarajevo.
The Dragons, who will land at the Sarajevo Airport, will be welcomed by the Mayor as the host of the capital city. He will personally congratulate them on their extraordinary success, uniting the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
“The City of Sarajevo once again congratulates all members of the national team, the coaching staff, and the Football Association, thanking them for representing our homeland at the world’s greatest football scene with dignity through their matches, fighting spirit, and unity,” stated the Administration of the City of Sarajevo.
