The government of FB&H issued yesterday a decision on declaring the concession contract for exploration of oil and gas in the area of FB&H for strategic interests.
This decision enables Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry to launch activities and procedures for granting the concession contract for exploration of oil and gas through direct negotiations.
The task of the relevant Ministry is to prepare a solution on the formation of a commission for preparation of documents for a public call in regard to the election of professional consultants. Consultants will have to provide consultation services in the negotiation process, to lead the negotiations and to create contractual modalities that will be submitted to the government of FB&H.
The main reason for this Decision is the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the oil company Shell Exploration Company B.V. with government of FB&H on 3 November 2011. The main task of the implementation of this Memorandum was drafting of a report “Assessment of FB&H perspective in exploration of oil and gas”
