The Consumer Basket in BiH amounts to over 3,355 BAM

The trade union consumer basket calculated by the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina for November 2025 is 3,355.25 BAM.

The average salary paid in the Federation of BiH for September 2025 was 1,603 BAM (the latest data published by the Federal Institute of Statistics), and the minimum salary according to the Decision of the Government of the Federation of BiH is 1,000 BAM, so the coverage of the Trade Union Consumer Basket by the average salary is 47.78 percent, and by the minimum salary is 29.80 percent.

When creating the Trade Union Consumer Basket, the average salary paid in the Federation of BiH was taken into account, as well as the minimum living costs of a four-member family consisting of two adults and two children, one of whom is in high school and the other in elementary school.

The consumer basket consists of the following categories (next to the name is the percentage of participation of each category in the union consumer basket): food – 42.64 percent, housing and communal services – 14.73 percent, hygiene and health maintenance – 9.25 percent, education and culture – 10.73 percent, clothing and footwear – 11.92 percent, transportation – 4.77 percent and household maintenance – 5.96 percent

In the food category, prices from three shopping centers for 86 items were used. When it comes to hygiene and health maintenance, costs for ten items were included, and for housing and communal services, costs for six items, the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
