aroniaEmin Tatarevic started with the production of aronia – Siberian blueberry with his sons in 2012, and today he is the largest producer of this healthy fruit in B&H. He started with 8,000 seedlings, and today he already has 22,000 in Bihac settlement of Mala Gata.

Only in 2015 they had a yield of 17 tons, from which they made 10,000 liters of juice, 1,000 kg of jam and 400 kg of aronia tea.

Tatarevic family spent 19 years in the United States, and they decided to invest in their own business on their return to B&H. Aronia was almost unknown fruit in B&H when they started with the production. Due to the lack of sufficient capacities of cold storage where aronia could be kept, Tatarevic’s started with the production of juices, jams and teas, according to NAP.

Application of this antioxidant fruit is very wide, from food to pharmaceutical industry. With the support of the Swiss organization (SIPPO) they will present themselves at the upcoming fair “FruitLogistica 2016” that will be held in Berlin from the 3rd to 5th of February. If they find a partner that would help them with export, they are willing to expand the production.
