The municipality of Sokolac, but also Istocno Sarajevo, will today host the delegation from Russia led by Sergey Baburin, president of the International Slavic Academy of Sciences, Education, Arts and Culture.

Baburin, once the vice-president of the Russian Duma, is now known for his policy that supports the actions of Vladimir Putin – which was especially reflected in his statements about the war in Ukraine.

He is also known for his statements of support for the president of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, and ahead of today’s visit, he stated that “high-ranking European officials are dealing with evil goals” in relations with this entity.

“There is no dilemma here, we are on the side of Milorad Dodik and the RS because high-ranking European officials are engaged in evil goals, they want to take the soul of the RS and abolish it,” said Baburin.

According to him, Russia has failed a lot in recent years and made big mistakes, but “thanks to President Vladimir Putin, Russia is returning all its traditional, historical and spiritual values”, which, Baburin says, the RS has always valued.

“They are asking the RS to give up some of its traditional, Orthodox values. To become part of Europe, as it is, means giving up the traditional family and other traditional values,” Baburin believes.

As for the future of the region, he believes that there will not be a major conflict, but “it won’t be that peaceful either.”

The office of the mayor of Sokolac also adds that Baburin’s wish is for “a television crew from Russia to present the truth about the war in the Sarajevo-Romanija region to the Russian public.”

Baburin and the rest of the delegation will be hosted by the mayor of Istocno Sarajevo, Ljubisa Cosic.

The Russian Federation delegation will include the president of the International Fund for Human Dignity and Security, the coordinator of the Committee for Cooperation with Serbs in Serbia and the RS, Andrei Snegov, and the director of the company “Vektor-N” Sergei Dobrynin, N1 reports.
