The Draft Law on immovable Property has been Withdrawn

The President of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandić said that the Draft Law on immovable property used for the functioning of public authorities has been withdrawn from the agenda of tomorrow’s session of the NSRS for additional harmonization.

“The proposal has been withdrawn for additional harmonization. The right of the Government of Republika Srpska is to propose materials, withdraw them or postpone their consideration for the next session,” explained Stevandić.

He added that he will inform the deputies when the Government withdraws this bill, stating that before tomorrow’s session of the RS Parliament, an ad hoc collegium of the Assembly will be held.

“When the government withdraws some material, I will inform the deputies, but we will have a collegium at 9:30 a.m. We always have a small ad hoc collegium before the assembly,” said Stevandić.

The proposal of the law on immovable property used for the functioning of public authority, which should be on the agenda of tomorrow’s session of the NSRS as a matter of urgency, regulates the ownership of that property that serves as a means of exercising and enforcing public authority, and is used by entities that exercise this power since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, it is stated in the explanation of this bill.

The controversial Proposal of the Law on immovable property used for the functioning of public authorities was supposed to be presented to the members of the entity parliament for the third time. Application of this law was suspended in April last year by Christian Schmidt, and in September the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina declared it unconstitutional.
