”The economy is the lifeblood of a country, and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) is in the worst recession in the last 25 years, ” said businessman and publicist from Han Pijesak, Milisav Tomovic, who was the keynote speaker at the regular session of independent intellectuals “Circle 99”.
It was pointed out that the economy is one of the first victims of the unsettled political state of internal relations in BiH.
“The economy is the lifeblood of a country. The economy must be open, not only inside but also outside the country. We have been divided for 25 years, instead of building a common state and developing all of its segments in that state,” Tomovic noted while talking about the topic Economy against isolation and division “.
“About six billion goods and capital are circulating on the black market. If part of that money were in the function of the state, how much better it would be for all of us. Nowadays we live in a chaotic world and era,” Tomovic explained.
As he told, the great and powerful are leading geopolitical and geostrategic games.
“Those who are small and underdeveloped don’t ask anything, they usually suffer in that game,” Tomovic explained.
He believes that politicians are diverting the attention of citizens from real life to the so-called defense of national interests.
“What is the real situation in our economy, how many people live in BiH today, how many employees are in the administration, what is the concept of getting out of the current crisis? Nobody gives us answers to those questions. We will see what will happen after this crisis. After the latest tensions in our country, the world and Europe are considering sanctions that would further affect the economy of BiH, especially the citizens of Republika Srpska (RS). If economic sanctions were imposed on RS, it would have unforeseeable consequences for the collapse of the already weak economy of both RS and the whole of BiH”, explained Tomovic.
He thinks that it would affect everyone in BiH and lead the country into further economic and population collapse.
According to him, Europe and the world have largely stepped into a deep energy crisis, and it seems like nothing is happening in BiH.
“Either we will create a state in this situation, after this crisis, or we will do something else, who knows what, but this current situation is no longer an option,” Tomovic added.
