The Engagement of FRONTEX would be extremely Important for BiH

The engagement of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX) would be extremely important in the effective fight against organized crime related to smuggling and human trafficking in BiH, it was pointed out at the meeting of the director of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mirko Kuprešaković and the head of the EU Rule of Law Department in BiH by Alfredo Stripolij, in Sarajevo.

Kuprešaković and Stripolij emphasized that in this way technical and operational assistance would be increased and the protection of the border and the security of the citizens of BiH, and therefore also the citizens of the EU, would be additionally strengthened, the Border Police of BiH announced.

During the meeting, they discussed the security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, as well as the issue of illegal migration and people smuggling.

Kuprešaković emphasized the significant operational actions of members of the BiH Border Police in the past period in the fight against cross-border crime and illegal migration.

The interlocutors expressed the importance of improving cooperation with the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the readiness to provide support in the implementation of operational activities.
