The High Representative, Valentin Inzko, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Luigi Di Maio yesterday in Sarajevo. The High Representative informed the Italian Foreign Minister about the status and challenges regarding the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

“Progress in Bosnia and Herzegovina is possible, but it requires the political leadership of Bosnia and Herzegovina to demonstrate the necessary political will to put the country’s interest first. This requires a paradigm shift in the way politics is conducted in this country. European integration, strengthening of the rule of law and economic development should be at the forefront of BiH’s efforts. The international community stands ready to help, to achieve European standards”, said the High Representative.

The High Representative expressed his appreciation to Foreign Minister Di Maio for Italy’s continued support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Office of the High Representative and the International Community’s efforts to help Bosnia and Herzegovina advance reforms.
