The European Union has decided to expand sanctions against Iran

The European Union (EU) has decided to expand sanctions against Iran in connection with the transfer of drones to Russia, and military support in the Middle East and the Red Sea region.

The European Union has previously imposed sanctions against Iran on several occasions, due to the strengthening of weapons of mass destruction, human rights violations and delivery of drones to Russia.

The EU Council stated that due to Iran’s continued military support to Russia in the war in Ukraine and “non-state armed groups” in the Middle East and the Red Sea region and Iran’s missile and drone attacks on Israel, sanctions were introduced not only for drones but also for missiles.

The EU will now be able to target individuals and organizations that supply, sell or otherwise transfer Iranian missiles and drones.

The assets of the targeted people in the EU countries will be frozen, and they will be banned from traveling to the countries of the European bloc.

The direct or indirect transfer of funds to the specified natural or legal persons will also be prohibited.

The European Union condemned Iran after the attack on Israel.
