Yesterday, the Collective Agreement on the Rights and Obligations of Employers and Workers in the Field of Mining was signed at the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH).
The collective agreement was signed by the Federal Minister of Energy, Mining, and Industry Nermin Dzindic, as well as representatives of the Independent Trade Union of Miners in FBiH and the Independent Trade Union of Miners in FBiH.
In recent days, the government has reached an agreement with the FBiH Mines Union to increase the salaries of all mine workers by 230 BAM.
“Our proposal, which we proposed to all unions on Thursday, met with a positive response. After that, we withdrew to further analyze the feasibility of such a decision. The period of validity of this agreement is from May 1st to December 31st, 2022. We should use this period to reach a more modern collective agreement. Together we stated that there is no alternative to the restructuring plan in the mines. The news is that at the last meeting on Friday we stated that over 1.000 workers left the FBIH mine in a year,” Dzindic told.
The Minister noted that the number of workers envisaged by the restructuring plan will be filled quickly by filling the vacancies from the concern. He believes that the new collective agreement should be drafted before the end of December this year so that there is no need for protests or strikes by miners.
Both unions expressed satisfaction with the signing of the collective agreement and the increase in workers’ salaries.
“I want to thank everyone who in any way supported us in the implementation of this solution, which is in force since May 1st, 2022, which increases the salaries of all employees in the amount of 230 BAM. We want to see what will happen in the field of mining in FBiH and what will be the situation in the energy sector in FBiH during this year, ” said the president of the FBIH Mine Workers’ Union Sinan Husic at the press conference, Klix.ba writes.
