As part of the bilateral cooperation between the Federal Police of Germany and the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, training for members of the Border Police Unit Sarajevo Airport – Anti-Bomb Team is held in Sarajevo under the name “Counter-sabotage examination and search of aircraft”, organized by the Federal Police of Germany.

The aforementioned training was designed to acquire the knowledge necessary to work with specialist equipment, donated by the German Government.

The beginning of the training was opened with an introductory speech by the director of the BiH Border Police, Mirko Kuprešaković, who thanked the Federal Police of Germany for the long-term support of the BiH Border Police, both in the form of training and in the form of donated extremely important funds and equipment.

Director Kuprešaković also pointed out that the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing a huge increase in the traffic of people at airports, and it is expected that this will lead to an increase in the number of criminal offenses as well as possible threats in the form of explosive devices.

“Exactly because of this, there is no doubt how important this training is, which will also be an opportunity to exchange experience and open new perspectives for further cooperation with the Federal Police of Germany,” said Kuprešaković.

At the end of August this year, twenty years have passed since the beginning of the cooperation between the Border Police of BiH and the Federal Police of Germany, which from the first day is based on a reliable and intensive approach from both sides, in which maximum capacities were invested.

The Federal Police of Germany has so far organized a series of specialized trainings for members of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a continuous exchange of experience in the field of state border protection, all with the aim of operationally strengthening this police agency, and at the same time it donated funds and equipment for the work of the GPBiH in the value of more of 15 million BAM, announced the Border Police of BiH.
