The fire at the market in the Sarajevo settlement of Otoka is in the phase of extinguishing and the crews are starting to return from the field, it was confirmed by the Sarajevo Professional Fire Brigade. About 50 firefighters with 17 vehicles took part in extinguishing the fire.

They point out that new teams will soon arrive at the fire site to excavate and extinguish the fire in detail.

The fire protection inspectors will carry out an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, and citizens have reported the explosion of a gas cylinder.

The First Firefighting Brigade Sarajevo states that the damage to the market is extensive and that even the parts that were saved from the fire are probably no longer usable.

A fire broke out at the open market ‘Quadrant’ in Sarajevo’s Otoka neighborhood today in the afternoon, Fena reports.
