At the first “Italy-BiH Business Forum”, taking place in Sarajevo on Tuesday, all 70 Italian companies operating in BiH were invited, Ambassador of Italy to Bosnia and Herzegovina Nicola Minasi stated.

“However, there are a lot of those who do business with BiH, but have no registered legal headquarters here. In fact, our estimate is that there are 100 Italian companies present in BiH,” Minasi said.

Minasi pointed out that Italian companies that are already present in BiH are active in metallurgical, chemical, textile, footwear, wood, household and construction, furniture manufacturing, energy, food, banking and finance sectors.

“All sectors of the economy are covered, and the number of employees in Italian companies is roughly less than 10,000. If we add the impact on the economy, the number of jobs that generate Italian investments and trade with Italy is even greater,” Minasi explained.

Minasi also said that they will discuss how to improve employee training and encourage them to stay in BiH.

According to information from the Italian Embassy in BiH, Italy is the second commercial partner of BiH with trade exchange of 1.5 billion Euros annually.
