On the occasion of the 156th anniversary of the founding of the “Dr. Abdulah Nakas” General Hospital in Sarajevo, the director Ismet Gavrankapetanovic, Minister of Health Haris Vranic, and writer and former patient of this institution Abdulah Sidran addressed the public yesterday.

The director of the hospital, Ismet Gavrankapetanovic, emphasized that the General Hospital was with the citizens during all the difficult moments.

”Congratulations on the day of our hospital. It has been 156 years since the founding of the first hospital, the heritage of tradition. We are proud of our teachers, and all those who worked and I take this opportunity to remember them. In the period behind us, the period of the COVID-19, we witnessed a difficult time of closed health system and everything that this hospital has done for the city,” said the director.

The Minister of Health of Canton Sarajevo (CS), Haris Vranic, on the occasion of marking the 156th anniversary of its founding, also addressed the public.

”We are witnessing that our health care is in transition, but the 156 years of existence of an institution such as the General Hospital shows that we are developing and providing patients with quality services,” Vranjic stated.

According to him, the success of the General Hospital is primarily due to the dedicated management and staff.

Finally, the writer Abdulah Sidran, who was recovering from a severe form of COVID-19 at the General Hospital, also addressed the public.

”As much as it is a phrase, I must say that it is a great honor for me to have been chosen to say anything. As a writer, I could say that every inch of this floor we stand on can tell a whole novel. There are a dozen books in my life that are unwritten, and which, if they were written, could only speak about what I survived under this roof,” Sidran emphasized, Klix.ba writes.
