The Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Muhamed Smajić, and the Military Attaché of the Federal Republic of Germany in BiH, Colonel Franz Josef Nolte, signed a Technical Agreement based on which the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany grants financial assistance for infrastructure works at several locations of the Armed Forces of BiH.

The Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina states that it is a sum of 1.2 million euros, which will be spent on four projects in the barracks of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely: heating works in the “Kozara” barracks in Banja Luka, heating works in the barracks “Mato Lučić Maturica” in Kiseljak, renovation works in the “Vojvoda Radomir Putnik” barracks in Doboj and construction works in the “Butila” barracks in Sarajevo.

Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Smajić expressed his gratitude for this help and pointed out that the signing of the agreement on the implementation of infrastructure projects confirms the partnership of the two countries, and that the event is a pledge for the continuation of our friendship.

Smajić also expressed satisfaction that Bosnia and Herzegovina has Germany as a true partner on the way to NATO. Colonel Nolte expressed his satisfaction that such an agreement is being signed, which includes projects on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and pointed out that the Ministry of Defense of Germany and the Armed Forces of Germany consider the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina to be a unique armed force.

Also, Colonel Nolte praised the work of the Team for the development of infrastructural projects of the Ministry of Defense of BiH, which made a great contribution to the realization of the projects.

Nolte pointed out that the value of this agreement is 1.2 million euros, and that the total value of the donation so far is 6.5 million euros, and that this is not the last agreement this year and that there will be more in the coming period.

“This is another proof that the Federal Republic of Germany is a proven and reliable partner, which was especially confirmed through various projects that improved the living and working conditions of our members, the procurement of uniforms for the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the improvement of infrastructure in training centers and the education of cadets and members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in FR Germany,” said the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
