The Government of the Sarajevo Canton strengthening the Prosecution with 10 new Prosecutors

Vlada KS faktor.baAiming at strengthening the capacities and improving the efficiency of work of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office, the Sarajevo Canton Government in its tenth session approved the hiring of new 10 cantonal prosecutors, three expert adviser investigators and 10 assistant prosecutors.

In the previous period, the influx of cases as well as the obligations of the Prosecutor’s Office, defined with the strategic documents of B&H in the field of justice, was not accompanied by the strengthening of human and material capacities. At the proposal of the Ministry of Justice and Administration, the Government opted for new employment in order to, as good as possible, respond to the task of solving the backlog of 130.000 cases, as well as the tasks that are yet to be set in front of it, was announced from the Government of the Sarajevo Canton.

In front the Government of Sarajevo Canton yesterday were reports on the operations of the cantonal utility companies for years 2013 and 2014 which were adopted and passed to the Assembly of the Sarajevo Canton, which ultimately adopts or does not adopt the aforementioned reports. Along with the review of the operations of utility companies, the Government yesterday called on the Cantonal Public Utility Company ‘’Vodovod i kanalizacija’’ for an urgent information on the supply of the Sarajevo Canton with drinking water. Moreover, a report on the reasons of daily reduction was requested, as well as the data on the number of those who do not pay their bills for the drinking water consumption. Detailed information on the bills for the consumption of water by the major catering facilities, hotels, and car washes was requested, as well as the data on the number of illegal connections to the water supply.

The Government also adopted the Program of measures for incentives in employment and maintaining higher employment rate in the Sarajevo Canton in year 2015. Out of 3.5 million BAM covered by this program, 2.640.000 BAM will be spent for the co-financing of the self-employment, and 196.600 BAM are planned for the programs of training and requalification of 131 people. For public works, for which the call is to be announced within the next 15 days and where 429 unemployed people will be hired, 663.000 BAM have been allocated.
