“The fight to the last cent”

The race of billionaires for the world throne of the richest man on the planet is being watched with attention. Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are “fighting to the last cent” (from time to time someone like Bill Gates or Bernard Arnault jumps in, which makes the race interesting and uncertain).

Although far lower in value, the race in Serbia is not uninteresting either, where the two biggest businessmen Miroslav Miskovic and Miodrag Kostic have been competing for the business top for decades, and whose difference this year is in the price of a studio apartment in Belgrade, i.e. only 196.000 euros.

Last year, Nedjeljnik published a list of the richest people in Serbia, and this year, for the first time, exclusively in cooperation with the leading media from the region, it published a list of the richest people in the region. The 100 richest business people in the countries of the former Yugoslavia (excluding Slovenia) are worth 69 billion euros.

The “King of insurance” the richest man in the region

Among the richest people in the region are:

Dubravko Grgic – Agram group, 2.840.000.000 euros, Croatia – The richest businessman in the region is known to the Croatian public as the “King of Insurance”.

Miroslav Miskovic – Delta Holding, 2.779.127.103 euros, Serbia – He is the owner of the company Delta Holding, which operates in the sectors of agribusiness, export, import, representation of foreign companies, distribution of consumer goods, car sales, real estate development and development of new technologies. Delta Holding is divided into five separate companies: Delta Agrar Group, Delta Food Processing, Delta Real Estate Group, Delta Distribution, and New Technologies division.

Mate Rimac – Rimac Group, 2.270.000.000 euros, Croatia – Mate is an entrepreneur and innovator who has become known on a global scale as the manufacturer of the fastest electric car in the world. Like some of his world-famous colleagues, Rimac also started from a garage, less than a decade and a half ago. He founded the Rimac car company in 2009, and already in 2011 he had a car that won in “class 11” at the 402 Street Race in Velika Gorica, with which he broke five FIA and Guinness records for the fastest accelerating electric cars.

The company “Matijevic” has 106 companies in its composition

Petar Matijevic – MI “Matijevic”, 1.597.272.145 euros, Serbia – Petar Matijevic is the owner of the production and trade company “Industrija mesa Matijevic” (eng. Meat industry Matijevic) whose main activity is the production and trade of meat and meat products.

The company has 106 companies in the fields of agriculture, trade, real estate, and catering. “Matijevic Agrar” cultivates about 37.000 hectares of agricultural land in the territory of Vojvodina and about 2.500 hectares in Croatia.
