The chairman of the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Saša Magazinović, at the PSVE plenary session in Strasbourg on the occasion of the monitoring report on BiH, particularly emphasized that neighboring countries Serbia and Croatia must stop interfering in the internal politics of BiH.
He warned that such interference further destabilizes the situation in the country and undermines sovereignty and democratic processes.
According to the statement of the SDP Deputies’ Club in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, which was transmitted by the Public Relations Department of the PSBiH, Magazinović also said that strong support for the fight against crime and corruption is the greatest help that Bosnia and Herzegovina can receive.
Magazinović thanked the reporters for very clearly emphasizing in the monitoring report two extremely important facts that must not be questioned – that the mandate of the high representative is legitimate and unquestionable and that state property can and must be managed exclusively by the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He especially pointed out that the public RTV system in Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the most difficult situation since its existence, not because there is no money, but because part of the political elites are consciously working on its collapse.
He said that the same people who raise national and ethnic tensions are responsible for this crisis and added that it is not a technical but a political problem. In this regard, he called on the Council of Europe to be actively involved in solving this problem.
Magazinović said that crises in Bosnia and Herzegovina do not happen by chance, but are produced in order to cover up forms of brutal crime.
At the root of almost all problems and crises in Bosnia and Herzegovina is crime with a political background, he emphasized.
Therefore, in his opinion, the greatest help that Bosnia and Herzegovina can receive today is strong, decisive and consistent support for the fight against crime and corruption.
At the end of the presentation, Magazinović warned about violence against women in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a growing and deeply worrying problem, and expressed expectations for stronger engagement of the Council of Europe in the coming period in order to put an end to this violence together, with concrete policies and protection mechanisms, Fena writes.
