The Bosnia and Herzegovina national hockey team won third place at the World Championship III-A Division, which was played in South Africa.
Our hockey players just finished the competition against South Africa last night. The African selection celebrated with a score of 4:3, and our selection ultimately took third place in the competition that brings together six teams.
Two goals for our team were scored last night by Jakub Silajdžić, and one by Faris Čapin.
The BiH national team opened the competition with three victories. They “fell” Turkmenistan 4:3, Mexico 4:3 after overtime, and Thailand 5:2.
After that, two defeats followed. First, we were defeated by Turkey in a dramatic match, and then last night South Africa.
The rules are such that only the first selection advanced to the II-B division, which was Turkey, which had the maximum effect of five victories. Mexico finished in second place, while the last team on the table, this time Turkmenistan, was relegated to Division III-B.
The World Hockey Championship is divided into divisions. After the World Division, there are Leagues I-A, I-B, II-A, II-B, III-A, III-B and IV.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the sixth tier of the competition and hockey in our country, which is a relatively young sport, is improving year after year, Klix.ba writes.
