The heir to the throne and the person who will take over the throne after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III, is already attracting a lot of public attention, and what is also a curiosity is the fact that he has stayed in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) several times.
Apart from the fact that through his service, as previously known, he visited Jablanica at the end of the seventies, and Sarajevo on two occasions in 1996 and 2007, then as a prince, Charles also stayed in the south of the country, more precisely in Mostar.
It is important to mention that Charles attended the opening ceremony of the renovated Old Bridge in 2004.
The prince arrived in Split by plane, and sometime around 2:45 p.m. Prince Charles’ helicopter landed in Mostar. According to protocol, the prince went to the terrace of the Labirint restaurant, where the other world delegations were also present. Then he crossed the Old Bridge, visited the cellars and towers and the old town center. He did not hide his enthusiasm for the Bridge.
As part of his visit to Mostar, Prince Charles also visited the Old High School in Mostar, where he was greeted by the then Cantonal Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Jago Musa, and the director of the High School, Dinko Milicevic. The prince showed great interest in this object.
Apart from the visit in 2004, Charles has also visited Mostar before. During 1978 and his visit to Jablanica, Charles also visited Mostar, where he visited the Partisan Cemetery and paid tribute to all the anti-fascists who participated in the National Liberation Movement.
It was during that visit to Mostar that the current king was accompanied by the then mayor of the City of Mostar, Dzevad Derviskadic, who held this position from the sixth month of 1976 until the fourth month of 1982, Klix.ba writes.
