At least 54,321 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s war since October 2023, the Health Ministry said on Friday.
The ministry said 72 bodies had been brought to hospitals in the past 24 hours, while 278 people had been injured, bringing the number of casualties in the Israeli offensive to 123,770.
Many victims remain trapped under rubble and on roads because rescuers cannot reach them, it added.
Israel resumed its assault on the Gaza Strip on March 18, abandoning a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that came into effect in January.
As the relentless and deadly bombardment intensifies in Gaza, families are starving and being deprived of basic survival supplies, according to the UN and aid agencies.
In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, charging them with war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide charge before the International Court of Justice over its war on the enclave, AA writes.
