The photo exhibition titled “Prvaci/Prvakinje” (Champions) prepared by the Embassy of France in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was opened on Wednesday in the City Hall with welcoming words from the Deputy Mayor of Brčko Ante Domić, the French Ambassador Christine Toudic and the Supervisor for Brčko Jonathan Mennutius.

Domić thanked the ambassador for choosing Brčko to host this exhibition, as well as the supervisor, saying that they represent an example of a developed society with equal opportunities, which the District is leaning towards, the Information Office of the Brčko Government announced.

“We are a multi-ethnic community that has had its ups and downs, and whose goal is to progress and become a society of equal opportunities, and for our young people to see that it is possible to achieve the highest goal, even though it is sometimes difficult, and that they should stay here. An example of this has been shown is in the photos of these athletes who have achieved enviable success from seemingly impossible situations and whom we should emulate in order to develop into a modern, European city,” said Domić.

Ambassador Toudic said that she was happy that this exhibition was opened today in Brčko.

“I care that every time I organize an exhibition in Sarajevo, I organize the same exhibition in Brčko, and I am glad that the supervisor is with us today,” said the ambassador.

Supervisor Mennuti thanked the District Government for providing the opportunity for the Embassy of France to organize a photo exhibition that carries a strong message.

“The exhibition shows athletes who can serve as inspiration, that with hard work and effort you can really achieve the goals you set,” said Mennuti.

The opening of the exhibition was followed by a meeting attended on behalf of the District by Deputy Mayor Anto Domić, President of the Assembly Siniša Milić, Vice President Ivo Filipović and Head of the Department of Education Zoran Bulatović with Ambassador Toudic and Supervisor Menunuti.

Those present discussed the current activities in the District, especially the future introduction of the French language as a school subject.
