The Presidency of BiH adopted the draft Law on State Property

At the ongoing session of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a draft law on the state property of BiH was determined, which will be sent to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH for further procedure, the Fena news agency has learned.

It is also the first time that the Presidency adopts a law regulating this area. The bill was included in the agenda of today’s session at the request of the chairman, Denis Bećirović, and the member of the Presidency, Željko Komšić. BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović was outvoted, reports RTRS.

As stated in the explanation of the proposed law, as the legal successor of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the owner of state property, which means that it is also the holder of the ownership rights to all of that property, with the fact that the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Entities and all other levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina may use or own the property they need to exercise their individual competences, to the extent that they could be authorized by the law passed by the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
