“We lock in prices” – a project that starts tomorrow and will last for three months. The goal is to help citizens cope with the rising cost of living, the prices of 40 food and hygiene products in large retail chains are “locked”.

The project was presented by the Minister of Trade of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Amir Hasičević and the Association of Employers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it was conceived so that the Federal Ministry of Trade made a list of 40 products, which, in their opinion, should be limited, that is, their price should be limited.

Small shops have the possibility to “lock” products of a minimum of 20 products, according to their wishes.

Federal Minister of Trade Amir Hasičević pointed out that the action is the result of cooperation between the line ministry and employers.

“The action starts tomorrow, I am glad that over 20 significant stores have been registered. We have left the possibility for small stores to enter the project. There is good will and a good intention for us all to bear the burden of crisis times. Inflation is largely imported. We are working on a strategy stores, where we will take care of how to make import substitution with our own forces,” said Hasičević.

Merima Maslo, assistant to the federal minister of trade for prices and market analysis, stated that the list of products containing 40 items can be changed, but that the locked price cannot until March 15.

She pointed out that so far 20 large retail chains have registered to participate in the project, and that others can also register regardless of the fact that the project starts tomorrow.

The President of the FBiH Employers’ Association, Adnan Smailbegović, emphasized that companies have shown great social responsibility.

“This is a test period and we hope that the project will get a good result and that we will continue it,” said Smailbegović.
