Representatives of 10 national aviation bodies and organizations that offer services in air navigation will sign a letter of intent today in Sarajevo on the Initiative for Zone Joint Delivery Service in South East Europe under the auspices of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).
The initiative will strengthen regional cooperation in the area of air transport in South East Europe, focused on a more efficient and safe provision of air navigation services.
The initiative was designed to bring an economic effect to all users and their partners through joint projects and cooperation between regional civil aviation bodies and those that lend services to air navigation.
It was based on the actual needs and can serve as a tool for practical applicable bilateral//multilateral agreements between signatories.
The conference is jointly organized by the RCC Secretariat and the Agency for Civil Aviation of Montenegro, and will gather representatives of civil aviation bodies of Albania, BiH, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Hungary. Among the participants are the national bodies for lending services in air navigation and HungaroControl.
The imitative is being promoted by the Single European Sky in the region and represents an important step for a more efficient participation of the Western Balkans in the Single European Sky concept.
It is unique in that it represents a pragmatic regional example to follow in the next period when there is more intense attention paid to European airspace management.
The initiative was started by the Agency for Civil Navigation of Montenegro in 2012. The intention was to formulate cooperation and coordination at the operative level.
The signing of the letter of intent is announced at 11:45 at the RCC Secretariat, announced the RCC.
