The Reasons why Ryanair left Tuzla were revealed

Dzevad Halicevic, director of the Tuzla International Airport, spoke about the events at this airport, which recorded a large drop in the number of flights after the shutdown of the Wizz Air base, as well as the departure of Ryanair.

He said that back in June they had a meeting with Wizz Air, where they did not even bring up the closing of the base, but they discussed basing the third plane in Tuzla, which is why Tuzla built the third gate.

This is precisely why Tuzla could not even dream that Wizz Air would close the base, said Halilcevic in an interview.

Halicevic said: “We will never again put all our eggs in one basket”.

They also came to the conclusion that it is very strange that Wizz Air closed its base after so many years of successful business in Tuzla, and that this is the result of problems with the engines on Wizz Air planes, which will cause a large number of planes to be out of service and Wizz Air would halve the number of routes to about 20, but they thought they would leave at least one base plane in Tuzla.

Halicevic also confirmed that Ryanair literally left because of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Directorate of Civil Aviation (BHDCA) fee of 1.50 euros and said that this should not have happened.
