The trial of the former commander of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Gračanica, Džemal Jukan, for crimes against civilians in the Doboj area, which was supposed to begin today, has been postponed indefinitely, the Doboj District Court confirmed.

They did not state the reason for the postponement of the hearing in the District Court, and a new start of the trial will be scheduled later, reports BIRN BiH.

According to the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Doboj, Jukan, in his capacity as the former commander of the 221st mountain brigade of the ARBiH in Gračanica, ordered that the columns of buses moving from Doboj towards Ozren should be fired from an anti-aircraft machine gun, but that buses in the opposite direction should not be fired upon.

Jukan is charged with the death of one person in a bus on the regional road Doboj – Petrovo, and another female person in the family house in Boljanić.

Accused Jukan denied guilt in May last year.
