The Tourism Potentials of the Municipalities along the River Vrbas

vrbasFair of adventures was implemented as part of theenvironmental protection andthe development of tourismalong the riverVrbas“Clean Vrbas” of United Nations Development ProgrammeinB&H and in cooperation with theRaftingClub “Kanjon“was held on Fridayat the Park “Petar Kočić”.

As part of the fair programwas held a lecture on the topic “Management of the destinations alongthe river Vrbas” and sportiveorganizations engaged inadventure sportsandtourism organizationsandagenciesfrom the riverVrbaspresented theirprogramsand activities that promotetourism potential of13municipalities along the riverVrbas.

GoranVukmir, head of the UNDP regional officeinBanja Luka,saidthat the aimof the fairis primarilycleaningVrbas, a better life andincome fromnatural resources.

As stated bySvetlanaRadušin, Assistant of Minister for Environment, Vrbas isecologically,tourist andeconomicallyunusedand therefore needs to beprotected.She alsoadded thatthe Ministrysupports allprojects that aim environmental protection, and they are recognizedas an Institution that needs to draw attentionthatthegarbage should be used asraw materials, instead of being throwninto the river.

AleksandraTrifković, Assistant of Minister of Tourism, said that the ministrysupportsthe implementationof the “Clean Vrbas,” and the implementation of the fairbecause it contributes tothe development oftourism products in RS.

According toAleksandar Pastir, thepresident ofRK“Kanjon” the fairbrought togetherall the clubsandagenciesthat deal withthis kind oftourism.

“Althoughwe are on thehigh levelof the environment, we should continueto develop. We havestuff tooffer, and not justrafting. With us are kayaks, divers andParagliding”, saidShepherd.
