The Mountaineering Guides Station in Sarajevo will organize an event called ‘100 women on Trebević’ again this year, on March 8 – on International Women’s Day.

It is planned that the participants of that hike will climb the top of Sofa (1,629 meters above sea level) on Sunday, March 8.

The event has a mountaineering and recreational content, and judging by the experience of previous years, women of different ages respond. They then “give” themselves clean air, movement, being in nature and socializing.

Led by Jasmina Tabaković – Đugum, Amra Nalo and Ajna Hodžić, the hikers will reach the top of Trebević (Sofe – 1,629 m.a.s.l.) on March 8 in the direction of Ravna (Prvi šumar) – Dobre vode. The same route is planned for the return trip, to the Mountain Hut on Trebević.

In 2014, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina joined the hiking celebration on March 8, with the “100 women’s trek to Trebević”. The goal of this event is to further popularize hiking and staying on Mount Trebević, a favorite excursion spot of Sarajevo residents and guests of this city.

International Women’s Day – March 8 has been celebrated with mountain hikes for decades in our neighboring countries. In Croatia, since 1974, the Croatian Mountaineering Society “Mosor” has been organizing “100 women to the top of Mosor”, a climb to the highest peak of the Mosor mountain above Split. In Slovenia, it is a campaign called ‘100 women on Triglav’.
