During the examination of the three experts, yesterday at the Cantonal Court of Sarajevo (CCS), the trial of Sava Marinkovic, Aleksandar Macan, and Marko Trifkovic Zizan, accused of the murder of members of the Canton Sarajevo (CS) Ministry of Internal Affairs- Adis Sehovic and Davor Vujinovic in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Alipasino Polje on October 26th, 2018, continued.

Expert and employee of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), Irhad Kos, presented the findings and opinions regarding the examination of the mobile phone of Bozana Savic (former unmarried spouse of the first accused) and the USB stick on which a conversation between a witness and the third accused in this case was stored.

Referring to the queries of prosecutor Seila Heljic, expert Kos reminded how, in accordance with the order of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office, he provided information regarding the memory of the mentioned phone, call/message logs, deleted video and audio recordings, website visits, as well as communications via social media and other data that could be linked to the commission of the criminal offense.

This communication occurred at the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, indicating that the first accused was present in the area of Pale and attended the funeral of Milos Ostojic, who was killed on January 1st, 2019.

Regarding the USB stick, videos related to the conversation/communication between the witnesses in this case and the third accused Trifkovic were analyzed, containing threats, curses directed at the witnesses, and other inappropriate communication.

Expert Aziz Kovacevic provided information regarding traces found and collected items, or parts of vehicles showing traces of burning and charred areas, found at a location in the wider area of Pale.

He stated that each part was visually inspected and analyzed in the context of general characteristics, concluding that they correspond to the ‘VW’ concern, primarily – the Volkswagen, Seat, and Audi brands of vehicles.

An employee of the CS Ministry of Internal Affairs and expert Mirhan Beslija described the characteristics of the electronic control unit (the so-called vehicle processor), which was the subject of examination after being seized.

He reminded that it is a ‘Control Unit’, branded ‘Siemens-Continental’, installed in diesel vehicles of the Volkswagen brand, and in this specific case, the ‘golf-6’ model (according to the indictment, the defendants are also charged with grand theft auto).

He added that this processor can be used in the theft of all Volkswagen brand vehicles, describing the ‘modus operandi’ of how this is done in practice, including the decoder and key, or the use of connectors to bypass factory engine blocks, N1 writes.
