The US Embassy in BiH responded to Milanović’s claims that America is the enemy of Croats in BiH

The Embassy of the United States of America in Sarajevo reacted after Croatian President Zoran Milanović claimed that Americans have a hostile attitude towards Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As they stated in their response to Fena news agency, this is an absurd claim.

They pointed out that the policy of the United States of America towards Bosnia and Herzegovina has been consistent for more than three decades.

“We support the sovereignty, territorial integrity and multi-ethnic character of BiH, which consists of two entities and is inhabited by three constituent peoples and other peoples. Our engagement throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina supports this goal,” it was announced.

The United States, it added, will continue to stand with all the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Bosniaks, Croats, Serbs and others – “as they work to strengthen their country’s democracy, develop their economy and secure the place their country deserves in the Euro-Atlantic community.”

As a reminder, Milanović said on Monday, in the midst of the pre-election campaign for the parliamentary elections in Croatia, that “the attitude of the European Union and the United States towards Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina is hostile” and called out Prime Minister Andrej Plenković not to deal with this issue because “he does not want go against the European Commission”.

“The attitude of the European Union and the USA towards the status of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina is hostile, to put it mildly. The fact that Croats are prevented from living in Bosnia and Herzegovina has really become a matter of Croatian national pride as well. It is not a matter of war and peace and it is not an issue around anyone in Brussels is scratching their heads,” Milanović said.
