The White House has said that a report by Iranian state television describing a draft memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran is “not true”.
The US administration emphasized in the publication that the quoted memorandum is “a complete fabrication”.
Iranian television reported that Tehran had received a draft memorandum of understanding with the US, which provides for the unrestricted opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the report, Iran would restore commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz to pre-war levels within a month, while the US would withdraw its military forces from the vicinity of the Islamic Republic and lift the naval blockade.
Iranian state television said that if a final agreement were reached within 60 days, the document could be adopted as a binding UN Security Council resolution.
