The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Serbia does not have any information for the time being, whether there are BiH citizens among the injured and victims in the terrible accident in Novi Sad.
“The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Belgrade has not received any information that any of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina were injured,” said Aleksandar Vranješ, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Serbia, for “Nezavisne Novine”.
We remind you that the accident happened a little before 12 o’clock when the canopy of the Railway Station in Novi Sad collapsed. The canopy that fell was built in 1964. Eight people died.
At the moment the canopy fell, a large number of people were sitting on the benches below, and people were buying tickets in the hall.
Ivica Dačić, Minister of Police, said that close to 80 rescuers from several cities are participating in the action.
“An extremely difficult operation, which will certainly last several more hours. Thirteen bodies have been pulled from under the rubble,” he said, adding that they have contact with two people who are under the rubble.
