b_160920047The newly built thermal power plant Stanari was officially put into operation yesterday in Stanari. Around 550 million EUR were invested in this thermal power plant.

Thermal power plant was put into operation by the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, President of the EFT Group Vuk Hamović, President of the company Dongfang Electric Corporation Zou Lei, Ambassador of China to BiH Chen Bo, and Deputy Head of Great Britain Mission in BiH Matther Lawson.

After cutting the ribbon, they made a tour of the thermal power plant and planted the first seedlings in the Park of Friendship.

Thermal power plant Stanari will have annual production of 2 million megawatts and its work has been adjusted with regulations from the field of environmental protection. It fully abides by the directives of EU for large combustion plants 2001/80/EC.

The thermal power plant was designed on the basis of studied and confirmed coal reserves of 108 million tons, which is sufficient for 40 years of continuous work.
